Cafe Science Extra: City Critters -
Why should we care about urban nature?
10th February, 6pm

Despite urban development, our cities are home to all the wonders and problems of nature. Although many people consider city wildlife a nuisance, habitable urban areas are important in the survival of many species.

Do you want to find out more about the state of nature in our cities and why it is important? Then come  to hear Dr Rebecca Wade talk about urban ecosystems and why she thinks we need to culture and conserve these systems. Rebecca will introduce the National Ecosystem Assessment programme and suggest ways in which complex and exciting urban spaces can be multi-functional in supporting people, biodiversity, buildings and even help with adaptation to climate change.

Join Rebecca Wade from the University of Abertay at Dundee Science Centre's award winning Infusion Café on Wednesday 10th February at 6.00pm (doors open at 5.30pm). This should be a thought-provoking talk that will encourage everyone to think more about the urban world around them.

Free admission. Everyone Welcome. Doors open at 5.30pm. Talk starts at 6pm.

Reclaim
10th February, 7pm - 10pm

Over 18s only. Our next one is on Wednesday 10th of February, which is perfect timing for meeting someone new in our speed dating with a difference to plan a Valentines date! Or if you are lucky enough to already have your date come along and swap DNA, find out the science behind love and play MR and MRS Mindball style! Either way it is sure to be a great night, and the cherry on the top is that might count as a CPD session if you are a teacher! The fun starts at 7pm!
