Football World Cup Special: May 2010

With the World Cup only weeks away and cup final glory in the air, Dundee Science Centre got into the spirit of things with a special football-themed Reclaim evening.

Presentations from scientists, Fergus Neville and Oliver Lauenstein, both from the University of St Andrews, focussed on their fascinating psychological research about football fans. There was plenty of interactive fun throughout the evening with games and activities reflecting the football focus – from writing national anthems to rating the disgustingness of sweaty football strips – and the opportunity to claim, and hold for the next four years, the Mindball World Cup Champion title.

In addition to the usual activities, there was a chance to see the explosive ‘Ice’ show at half time or even enjoy a relaxing massage. There was a licensed bar and live music provided by ‘The Dom and Tom show’.
