About Baby Sensory - Precious early learning for babies

Babies learn more in the first year of life than at any other time. Never again will there be such an extraordinary pace of development. They are totally attentive and absolutely fascinated by everything that they can see, hear, touch, taste and smell. Baby Sensory doesn’t waste a moment of this valuable time!

Founded on over thirty years of university research and practical theory, Baby Sensory is a unique programme that promotes baby learning and development from the start. Ongoing research ensures that the programme is constantly reviewed and updated with new materials and techniques introduced to add variety and novelty. 

Each activity is supported by useful learning and developmental information, so that parents know how to lead their baby’s learning forwards, and every week is different. Parents are provided with hundreds of simple ideas for activities that they can do with their babies at home. Baby signing for example, is a great way to develop speech and language, whereas movement activities can help with the development of sight and hand-eye co-ordination, so important for later reading and writing.

Toddler Sense - An exciting introduction to learning through play and games

Toddler Sense introduces a whole new world of adventure for toddlers and children up to the age of three years. Great music, great equipment and great new ideas! Imagine climbing a snow mountain, going on safari, digging for fossils, swimming with dolphins and hunting for dinosaurs? Every month introduces a whole new adventure.

The main emphasis is on mobility, excitement and adventure. It is a fast-moving, action-packed programme. Toddler Sense is very different to Baby Sensory, but equally addictive.

The age range is from 13 months to three years and is split into two groups; 13 - 18 months and 18 months to 3 years.

Classes run for parents and their toddlers from 10am - 10.40am (12-18 months) and 11am - 11.40am  (18-36 months) on the first Saturday of each month.

Demand is high and spaces are limited so we ask that all classes are paid for in advance. Cost per class is £7.50 per baby/toddler, with 2 adults free of charge. Price includes a baby or toddler sense class and entrance to all shows and workshops and freedom to explore the exhibition.
