Science communication training for research scientists

Create and Inspire is a course specially designed for research scientists, to give you the confidence, skills and inspiration to share your research with the public. Let Dundee Science Centre support you through a structured and supportive experience, to meet your public engagement targets.

In this course, you will be immersed in the science centre for a day, discovering our ideas, methods and philosophy. Let us share our techniques, and enable you to share your research with the public. You will then be supported to develop and deliver engaging science communication activities in a science centre public event.

Create and Inspire is a three-month experience, designed to be carried out alongside your research, and includes:
- training day
- support and mentoring from science centre staff
- public engagement practice session
- delivery of your activities at ‘Science in the City’ meet-the-science days at Dundee Science Centre
- evaluation session

The three-month training experience begins on:
Tuesday 17 January 2012, concluding with 'Science in the City' public engagement experience on 16 and 17 March 2012.

Create and Inspire can also be run by request for your research group or organisation.

Delegate fees:
Three month professional public engagement experience: £450 (including £50 materials allowance)
Training day only: £150
