Early Years visits to Sensation
Sensation provides a secure, inspiring, colourful environment in which pre-school children can discover science. An early years visit includes time to explore our exhibition, which features many exhibits suitable for young children. Even toddlers can climb inside a giant head, and control a robot!
Workshops on offer throughout the year
In addition to the above, your group will also be inspired and engaged by a special science show or workshop designed just for pre-school children. Four workshops that can be booked are:
Bubbles: Discover different kinds of bubbles and the amazing things they can do! (Early years MTH0-16a, SCN0-15a)
Solar System: Zooooooom down to the centre and hear a story about an astronauts adventures and travels in Space! (Early years SCN0-06a)
Rainforest Ramble: How many kinds of animals live in the rainforests? Come and hear a story about different animals, where they live and what curious things they get up to! (Early years SCN0-01a)
Healthy Body Bits: This workshop uses Stuffee, our giant rag doll to explore some of the organs inside us. Find out how we are all the same, but also different! (Early years HWB0-47b)
Pre-booked nursery visits that include workshop and exhibition time cost £3.50 per child, and one adult is admitted free with every 2 children. We also have a selection of snacks available starting from 40p per child. This must be requested at time of booking.

Early Explorer days - NEW FOR 2010
In February 2010, we launched a really exciting learning programme for children aged 3-5 years. Once a month, the centre is dedicated to our little scientists, who have some fun taking part in learning and inquiry activities that include hands-on workshops, story-time and a sing-a-long! Over the year we will explore many things including the weather, solar system, musicality and the rest of the world around us (see 'Early Explorers' subpage for more details).
