Create and Inspire - science communication training for research scientists

Create and Inspire is a one-day course, designed to give you the confidence, skills and inspiration to share your research with the public.

Create and Inspire gives you the opportunity to be immersed in the science centre for a day, and discover our ideas, methods and philosophy.  Let us share our techniques, and enable you to share your research with the public.

The one-day course contains an introduction to science communication in the science centre context, communication skills, practical experience, and ways to engage the public with topical issues in science.  The course is open to researchers of all subjects, and is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.

The following Create and Inspire dates are taking place in Winter-Spring 2009-2010:

• 11th November 2009
• 13th January 2010
• 10th February 2010
• 10th March 2010

Limited places are available on these dates, for researchers from the University of Dundee, University of St Andrews, and University of Abertay Dundee.

Create and Inspire alumni will also participate in ‘Science in the City’ public engagement days at the science centre: present your research to the community of Tayside, in the relaxed and inspiring environment of the science centre.
